Aiken, S.C. - Savannah River Remediation (SRR), the liquid waste contractor at the Savannah River Site (SRS), recently awarded seven SRR Family Scholarships to local graduates, all of whom are children of SRR employees.
At a reception on May 16, the graduates each received scholarships of $3,000. They were selected on the basis of general ability, leadership, scholastic assessments and achievement.
Dave Olson, SRR President and Project Manager, commended the students for their accomplishments and recognized their parents at the reception.
"The SRR Family Scholarship program is how we show our appreciation for both education and the SRR family," said Olson. "It is my hope the students and their families know how much we value their hard work."

SRR is the liquid waste contractor at the Savannah River Site, which is owned by the U.S. Department of Energy. SRR is comprised of a team of companies led by URS Corp. with partners Bechtel National, CH2M Hill and Babcock & Wilcox. Critical subcontractors for the contract are AREVA, Energy Solutions and URS Professional Solutions.
