AIKEN, S.C. – The United Way of Aiken County recently received a boost to its 2014 fundraising campaign with a $20,000 donation from Savannah River Remediation (SRR).
Stuart MacVean, SRR President and Project Manager, said he is pleased SRR can step forward with a Company donation that will later be followed by donations made from SRR employees.
"Everyone knows how important the United Way work is to this area, and what a tremendous job they do each year by helping those in need," MacVean said. "I am proud Savannah River Remediation can be a part of something that does so much for so many."
SRR is the liquid waste contactor at the Savannah River Site for the U.S. Department of Energy. SRR is composed of a team of companies led by URS with partners Bechtel National, CH2M Hill and Babcock & Wilcox. Critical subcontractors for the contract are AREVA, EnergySolutions and URS Professional Solutions.
