AIKEN, S.C. – The United Way of the CSRA recently received a donation from Savannah River Remediation (SRR) that will help rev-up its campaign and assist in its operations throughout the year.
SRR, the liquid waste contractor at Savannah River Site (SRS), donated $5,000 to their current fundraising campaign and $2,500 to assist them with special campaign events.
La Verne Gold, CEO of the United Way of the CSRA, said SRR's donation provided a wonderful jump start to the New Year.
"SRR's generous donation helps the United Way lend an extra hand and provide greater help to those in the community we seek to serve."
She added that SRR lived up to this year's campaign theme, "Unleash Your Super Hero," and truly answered the call to help raise funds for the needs of the local community.
Ted Myers, SRR Administrative Services Director, said the company is honored to partner with United Way to reach the many needs in the community.
"The CSRA United Way has done important, sustaining work over the years, and their past record is proof that our donation will be used to make even greater strides to meet the many needs of members in our community."
SRR is the liquid waste contactor at the Savannah River Site for the U.S. Department of Energy. SRR is composed of a team of companies led by AECOM with partners Bechtel National, CH2M Hill and Babcock & Wilcox. Critical subcontractors for the contract are AREVA, EnergySolutions and URS Professional Solutions.
